My work is from a strengths perspective, along with the person-in-environment context. I believe that a person's environment must not be ignored and a holistic plan should incorporate all of your concerns.
What Is Therapy?
Therapy is a personal process that is sought by those clients who desire a change. The hope for change may present as emotional or behavioral in origin, or appear as searching or a loss, which may cause stagnation or disruption in one's life. The therapeutic alliance is a unique relationship built on trust and confidentiality and in this environment, the work is done at the pace necessary to reach desirable goals. Therapy is what each person puts into it, and this is the hallmark feature of creating change within the therapy space.
What We Do.
Together, the therapeutic relationship takes hold, which embraces trust and empathy at its core. The work changes as the sessions move along, with attention to the concerns of the client. The process starts with the client, while the treatment modalities always remain flexible and therapeutic. The treatment modalities include Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Mindfulness Interviewing, and Grief Work.
The relationship becomes a metaphorical dance, with fluidity, with the clients and families taking steps toward change. The therapist will keep the space safe, and remain attune to the client's wellbeing. The work is guided and paced in a sensitive and empathetic manner.
